Setting up our Dept 56 Christmas village is one of our family's favorite holiday traditions. I love every step of the process, from rolling out the snowy surface to carefully taking the Christmas village collectibles out of their boxes and arranging them just so. Then, when everything is in place, we step back and admire the scene before us, adjusting a bit here, turning a building there until it is perfect.

We make it a family affair with everyone having input on how the Christmas village should look. We try to vary the scene each year so it never grows stale or boring. My son also loves to rearrange the smaller figurines from day to day as if they too were going about their daily activities.
